Penny is an accomplished cook who has worked in every type of kitchen and restaurant from sandwich bar to Michelin star. As well as being a cook, Penny trained as a management consultant and runs Repertoire Food and Design Ltd with Simon Firullo, a brand / photographic / design business for food-related organisations.
She firmly believes that when life throws you bitter lemons it’s important to make lemonade. When every day is a struggle it’s important to have food that makes you feel normal again. Her husband has been surviving bowel cancer for several years and together they developed a range of delicious, life-affirming recipes for people undergoing chemotherapy or radio therapy – all nutritionally tested by a leading cancer dietitian. THE CHEMO COOKERY CLUB was published in 2013 and quickly established itself as the best book of its type on the market. It is endorsed by leading oncologists and organisations such as Bowel Cancer UK, Breast Cancer Care, The Pelican Trust, Maggie’s Centre, The Oracle Trust, Macmillan, Beating Bowel Cancer and the world-renowned team of surgeons at Basingstoke Hospital. Recovery starts with food.
Penny's website receives 100,000 hits per month and she is highly active in generating PR for the cause.
