Peter JonesPeter Jones is a journalist and biographer. His next book, due to be published by Chicago Review Press in 2022, is a biography of a famously eccentric and well-loved musician - details to be announced.
Peter’s recent books THIS IS HIP: THE LIFE OF MARK MURPHY (Equinox Publishing, 2018) and THIS IS BOP: JON HENDRICKS AND THE ART OF VOCAL JAZZ (Equinox Publishing, 2020) have been widely praised, and both were nominated for the ARSC Award for Excellence in Historical Recorded Sound Research. He has written more than 200 articles for London Jazz News, and is also a senior writer for Jazz in Europe. As a singer, musician and composer, he has released three albums under his own name - One Way Ticket to Palookaville (2013), Utopia (2016) and Under the Setting Sun (2017). More recently his jazz-pop ensemble Zoöphyte have released an album - Signs of Life (2020) and an EP - Out of the Cave (2021). Peter’s past life includes teaching Navajo teenagers in New Mexico, writing hit computer games and working as company spokesman for Spitting Image.
