Shaun Deeney is a former journalist and Emmy award-winning film and TV producer. He has made current affairs programmes for ITV on social issues, including care. He has a degree in English and American Literature from Kent at Canterbury. He left TV production following his divorce to take equal care of his children, alongside working for literary festivals such as Oxford and Blenheim Palace at Woodstock, and writing.
After the death of his father, Shaun became a full time carer for his mother who suffers from parkinsons dementia. His book, LOVE & CARE, follows the first year of his experience caring for his mother and is a look at the harsh realities of care work and how this experience impacted his life. It is a continuation of his podcast which has been endorsed by novelist Nicci Gerrard, the BBC’s Caroline Raphael and Carers UK.
LOVE & CARE will be published in Spring 2021.
