Jo Usmar
Jo Usmar is a British author, ghostwriter and journalist. She has authored and co-authored eight titles in the bestselling This Book Will Make You... wellbeing and self-help series, including This Book Will Make You Calm and This Book Will Make You Fearless. The books, based on a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework, are sold all over the world and have been translated into a dozen languages. Her latest book, Friends for Life, was published in October, distilling wisdom about friendship from the TV show Friends.
When not authoring her own books, Jo is a ghostwriter and journalist. She’s ghosted a Top 10 UK bestselling fitness and nutrition title for a household name and is finishing up a second for the same client. Jo has over 15 years’ experience as a journalist writing for titles such as Stylist, Women's Health, Men’s Health, Red and Cosmopolitan. Her career has taken in everything from interviewing Joan Collins, One Direction and Heston Blumenthal (sadly not all at the same time), to piranha fishing in the Amazon and getting hypnotised to overcome arachnophobia. She was Cosmopolitan's resident relationship columnist for 18 months and has completed writing a new wellbeing podcast series for one of the biggest brands in UK health. Jo has appeared on television and radio discussing her work, including Sky News and BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. Previous to her work in magazines, Jo was Commissioning Assistant for Features and Factual Entertainment at Channel 4. See Jo's Website Follow Jo Usmar on Twitter. Follow Jo Usmar on Instagram. |
