Biography
Dr Victoria (Tori) Hallett is a Senior Clinical Psychologist with 15 years’ experience working with children and families across the NHS, private practice and research settings. She is passionate about understanding the experiences of neurodivergent children and helping parents find compassionate, practical ways to support their child.
Tori studied Experimental Psychology at the University of Cambridge before completing her MSc and PhD at King’s College London. She subsequently worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Yale University Child Study Center in the US, researching the links between autism and anxiety. There, she was involved in the world-leading RUBI study, a large clinical trial evaluating a parent-training programme for families of autistic children. This experience helped shape her longstanding interest in developing and evaluating evidence-based approaches to support parents.
After qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist, Tori spent eight years at the Maudsley Hospital’s National and Specialist CAMHS OCD, BDD and Related Disorders Service, specialising in supporting young people and families affected by OCD and related difficulties. Alongside her clinical work, Dr Tori co-created Predictive Parenting with Dr Lauren and Dr Jo. This work brought together research and clinical practice to help parents better understand their autistic child’s experiences and find tailored, effective ways to support their emotional wellbeing and behaviour.
Tori has published more than 25 peer-reviewed academic papers and is co-director of The Specialist OCD Clinic, a private practice supporting young people and adults with OCD.
